Ms. Kurlander is a 1984 graduate of Colgate University with a B.A. in political science and urban studies. She was a member of the Konosioni Senior Honorary Society and a George Cobb Fellow. Ms. Kurlander received her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1990.

Ms. Kurlander began her legal career at the Atlanta law firm of King & Spalding and continued her practice at Minkin & Snyder (now Greenberg, Traurig). Immediately prior to joining HSSW, Ms. Kurlander was self employed and engaged primarily with King & Spalding, Turner Broadcasting System and Sheley & Hall, P.C.

Ms. Kurlander’s practice is focused on retail and office leasing, representing both landlords and tenants. She also represents developers of regional shopping malls, mixed use facilities, power centers, and office towers. Ms. Kurlander has a wide range of experience, from the review and negotiation of construction contracts to the coordination of real property interests in numerous multi-state corporate transactions involving the purchase and sale of radio and telecom towers and related interests. Ms. Kurlander has represented residential real estate developers in the formation of residential subdivisions throughout the Southeast. She has also represented lenders and borrowers in connection with construction loans, and developers in deals with sophisticated financing.

Ms. Kurlander is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, of which she is a Past President. Ms. Kurlander is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Leadership Atlanta, of which she is a 2002 graduate.
