Mr. Burstiner earned his B. A. in philosophy, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Emory University in 1990. He matriculated at the University of Chicago Law School in 1990 and was awarded the J. D. in 1993.

Mr. Burstiner began his legal career at the Atlanta firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy.
Illustrative Background
Having represented clients in numerous acquisitions, dispositions, and refinances of retail, office and industrial properties, including transactions involving acquisition financing by both conduit and non-conduit lenders, Mr. Burstiner has also worked with several national and regional retail tenants in ground lease/development transactions across the country. He enjoys wide experience in handling retail development transactions between developers and national retailers throughout the United States. Relatedly, he has represented landlords and tenants in office, retail and industrial lease transactions and related asset management activities. He has closed numerous purchase and sale transactions, including shopping center and office building acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Burstiner has been an active participant in numerous real estate lending transactions for institutional lending clients. He has worked closely with the firm’s corporate department to identify and define the real estate components of multi-state asset purchase transactions and corporate reorganizations.

Mr. Burstiner has delivered seminars on various real estate topics for groups such as the National Business Institute.
Membership
A member of the State Bar of Georgia (Real Property Law Section), Mr. Burstiner is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Mr. Burstiner is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council, the Real Estate Group of Atlanta and an affiliate member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the Georgia Association of Realtors.
