Mr. Hartman practices in the area of commercial real estate development, especially matters concerning financing, investment, and leasing of retail, office, industrial, mixed-use and hotel properties.

Education
Mr. Hartman received a B.A. in History and Political Science from Vanderbilt University in 1982 and a J.D. from the Antioch School of Law in 1986.

Professional Experience
After graduating from law school, Mr. Hartman practiced real estate law with two New York law firms, and served as Associate General Counsel for a national specialty retailer, also in New York.

Illustrative Background
Mr. Hartman has a great deal of experience representing both developers and tenants in commercial real estate transactions. His particular area of expertise is in handling all aspects of commercial real estate development such as site identification, predevelopment activities, due diligence, acquisition, leasing, financing and the ultimate sale. For example, over the last five years he has been responsible for handling all of the legal requirements for the development of over 20,000,000 square feet of retail real estate projects all around the United States. In addition, over the last 10 years Mr. Hartman has negotiated or supervised the negotiation of well over 1,000 commercial leases on behalf of landlords and tenants alike.

Mr. Hartman is a frequent speaker for the Georgia Bar Association as well as the International Council of Shopping Centers and other trade associations.

Membership
Mr. Hartman is a member of the State Bar of Georgia as well as the American and New York Bar Associations. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
