Education
Mr. Ratchick received his B. S. in Business Management, cum laude, from Tulane University in 1983. He earned his J. D. degree from St. John's University School of Law in 1986.

Professional Experience
Mr. Ratchick has extensive experience as both a client of legal services and as outside counsel to a broad range of clients. He served as in-house counsel for Prudential Securities (now Wachovia Securities) from 1986 through 1989 and for PaineWebber Incorporated (now UBS Financial Services) from 1990 through 1994. Mr. Ratchick moved to Atlanta in 1994 and joined the firm of Hunton & Williams, LLP where he was a partner until 2004. Mr. Ratchick was then a partner with Wargo & French LLP until 2007.

Tried more than 100 securities and investment–related cases in litigation and arbitration proceedings involving claims of fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, RICO, violations of Blue Sky laws and other federal and state securities laws and industry practices.
Defended national and regional brokerage firms and other financial institutions, as well as registered representatives, in disciplinary proceedings before self-regulatory organizations, including the NASD, NYSE and various state securities agencies.

Defended national financial services companies in federal and state court actions involving claims asserted under the Fair Business Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Credit Billing Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Represented clients in both the defense and prosecution of trade secret, unfair competition, non-compete and Lanham Act claims, including having secured a nationwide permanent injunction barring an adverse party from competing or utilizing confidential information.

Defended multiple clients in class action lawsuits asserting violations of securities laws, consumer protection statutes and fraud.

Counseled and represented clients in various employment matters involving the enforcement of non-competition, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements.

Defended technology client in lawsuit filed by Federal Trade Commission for claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices.
Membership
Mr. Ratchick is a member of the State Bars of Georgia, California and New York and is admitted to practice before the courts of those states. In addition, Mr. Ratchick is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits, the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California.
