After graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1976, Mr. Wood attended the School of Law at the University of Alabama, graduating with a J.D. in 1980. While in Law School, Mr. Wood served as the Associate Editor of the Alabama Law Review.

Professional Experience
In the course of his real estate experience, Mr. Wood has been involved in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions and has negotiated on behalf of clients ranging from the largest to the smallest with an emphasis on finding practical solutions to complicated issues, whether involving retail redevelopment projects, the acquisition, development and leasing of shopping centers, office development, leasing and financing, or multiple acquisitions from bankruptcy.
Illustrative Background
Mr. Wood’s representation in the retail field has included "big box" anchor tenants, restaurants, shop space tenants, and developers and owners of strip shopping centers, malls and urban office-retail developments. His work in the office area has ranged from the national representation of companies with office space requirements to the development of multiple building office parks.

Mr. Wood is the author of The Wills Branch of the Doctrine of Worthier Title and Renunciation of a Devise to Escape Creditors: City National Bank v. Andrews, 30 Alabama Law Review 595 (1979) and The Uncertain Status of Exculpatory Clauses in Alabama: Alabama Great Southern Railroad v. Sumter Plywood Corporation, 30 Alabama Law Review 517 (1979). Mr. Wood has also spoken at and participated in International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) conferences and has published articles in various ICSC publications.

Mr. Wood is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Alabama and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
