HSSW REPRESENTS BANK IN ANOTHER $100+ MILLION ASSET DISPOSITION (December 18, 2009)

HSSW represented Bank of North Georgia in another $100+ million bulk sale of promissory notes and foreclosed properties held by the bank. The legal team of Gil Burstiner, Charles “Buzz” Wood, Keith Wilson and Yvette Fallone-Tietje effectively negotiated the purchase agreements and prepared the necessary conveyance and loan documents to finalize all transactions. HSSW also represented the bank in a $100+ million asset disposition in June.

 

HSSW CLOSES ON PURCHASE OF TENNESSEE SERVICE STATION AND $7 MILLION REFINANCING (December 9, 2009)

HSSW represented the purchaser in the acquisition of the land and assets of an Express Oil and Service Station in Knoxville, Tenn. The transaction also included the transfer of ownership, loan refinancing and a consolidation by the purchaser of seven existing Express Oil and Service Stations located in Georgia. Partner Jeremy Cohen drafted and negotiated all closing documents for the purchase of the Express Oil Station and negotiated all loan documents necessary to finalize the ownership transfer and refinancing of the seven Georgia properties. Financing for both transactions was provided by RBC Bank (USA).

 

HSSW PARTNER ELECTED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF CREW-ATLANTA

(December 4, 2009)

Partner Lori Kilberg was appointed President-Elect of CREW Atlanta for 2010. In this position, Kilberg will assist the current president in preparation of her term in 2011. She also represents the Chapter as a CREW Network Delegate . Over the past eight years, Kilberg has supported CREW Atlanta in various capacities including Program Committee Chairperson (2006), Board of Directors (2007-2008) and CREW Network Committee Chairperson (2009). Kilberg is also a 2004 graduate of Leadership CREW.

ORR HONORED AS BEST LAWYER IN AMERICA (November 5, 2009)

HSSW PARTNER APPOINTED TO SANDY SPRINGS' BOARDS (October 20, 2009)

Partner Ted Sandler was appointed to the City of Sandy Springs, Ga.’s Board of Zoning Appeals by Mayor Galambos and the City Council.  In addition to his zoning responsibilities, Sandler also was appointed to the City’s Board of Ethics in July 2009.  The City of Sandy Springs is Georgia’s sixth largest city and second largest in the metro Atlanta area.

 

HSSW REPRESENTS MULTI-FAMILY SELLER IN $33 MILLION SALE

(September 30, 2009)

HSSW represented an affiliate of Atlanta-based Wilwat Properties, Inc., a division of Watkins Associated Industries, Inc., in the sale of the Tree Summit Apartments in Atlanta.  The $33-million transaction transferred ownership of the 660-unit multi-family community to Norfolk, Va. - based Harbor Group International, LLC.  Partner Charles Brake provided legal counsel in order to facilitate the sale.

HSSW REPRESENTS BANK IN $100 MILLION ASSET DISPOSITION (July 15, 2009)

HSSW represented Bank of North Georgia in the June bulk sale of promissory notes and foreclosed properties held by the bank. With the assistance of HSSW Partners Gil Burstiner, Charles "Buzz" Wood, Keith Wilson and Yvette Fallone-Tietje, the bank grossed more than $100 million in aggregate sales proceeds. On behalf of the bank, HSSW effectively negotiated the purchase agreements, prepared the necessary conveyance and loan documents and successfully consummated over 75 separate commercial real estate closings within 12 days.

KILBERG RECEIVES CONNECTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM CREW (May 7, 2009)

Lori Kilberg was recognized by CREW for her extraordinary commitment to doing and referring business with fellow CREW members, thereby exemplifying the sprit of CREW-Atlanta and CREW Network. Since she joined the organization in 2002, she has been actively involved in several CREW committees, served the Atlanta Chapter as the Programs chair in 2006 and as a member of the Board of Directors in 2007-2008. She currently serves as a national delegate to CREW Network (the national CREW organization) and is the chair of the CREW Network committee.
